The Team

As part of the People team, the Talent Development team leads the strategy and operational aspects of talent and performance management, leader and team effectiveness, and employee engagement to enable continuous enhancement of Ellucian’s employee experience and culture.

 

The Role

As the Talent Development Manager, you will be focused on designing, delivering, and measuring various programs and platforms that build stronger leaders and teams. You will partner with business leadership to understand the evolving learning needs of the functional area(s) and then modify and/or develop solutions to support top priorities and drive organizational effectiveness. It will be critical for this individual to focus on fostering a culture of learning and contribute at both hands-on and strategic levels to promote engagement, collaboration, and innovation as the organization continues to evolve.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as the lead for employee experience and leadership development initiatives - use your passion and curiosity to drive effective and insightful solutions.
  • Work cross-functionally, partnering with the business and HRBPs to have a continuous pulse on the organization and to implement learning and development programs that align to the priority development areas.
  • Leverage business data, engagement/pulse surveys, direct employee feedback, and best practices to influence the learning strategy and employee learning experiences.
  • Create development solutions including instructor-led courses and e-learning modules, often incorporating a blended approach to delivery.
  • Facilitate innovative and dynamic training sessions to small and large groups of varying seniority
  • Build exceptional relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, communicating effectively with all levels.
  • Perform ongoing evaluations of current programs to determine effectiveness and manage continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work with broader people team on ad-hoc initiatives such as team enablement, onboarding, engagement, and operational effectiveness.

 

 An Ideal Candidate will have experience:

  • Designing and delivering effective training and development programs through e-learning and instructor-led delivery.
  • Managing projects and balancing multiple and conflicting priorities while also balancing effective collaboration with independent action.
  • Designing meetings and facilitating groups effectively; developing meeting summaries and action plans with effective follow-up.
  • Partnering with leadership and HRBPs to identify development needs and building learning and development plans.
  • Using PowerPoint, Articulate, and/or other online learning and survey tools.

 

Characteristics we’re looking for include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field and 7+ years of progressive experience in Talent Development, L&D, or related Human Resources function
  • Solid strategic thinking, consulting, and influencing capability, coupled with the interest and ability to understand Ellucian’s higher education software offerings and internal functions. Experience in the technology sector is a plus.
  • Self-driven and motivated to own and deliver on initiatives on time, producing high-quality results
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, best practices, and trends
  • Skilled in group process and facilitation techniques
  • Strong business acumen and excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and active listening.
  • The ability to travel up to 25%
