Senior Cloud Application Administrator (Identity & Access Management)

Job Responsibilities:


The Cloud Services group has a proven track record of delivering exceptional services to clients around the globe.  We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and motivated Application Administrator to join our Application Services Team. Our team is responsible for delivering high performance, high availability, and high stability Cloud applications to our clients by troubleshooting, tuning and configuring their entire technology stack including Tomcat application server, Linux operating system, and Oracle database server application integrations.


The Applications Administrator will play an integral role in the success of the group. Specifically, she/he will be responsible for:


  • Planning, deploying, testing Linux applications for Ellucian ERP suite integrations focused around Portal and Identity solutions.

  • Own the documentation, coverage and training on 3rd party (non-ERP) applications for which we are contracted to provide support to our customers

  • Script to automate common repeatable tasks across the spectrum of supported products and technologies

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and able to adapt to changing business goals

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines when needed

  • Able to sync with peers, clients and external partners to achieve client goals

  • Ability to quickly acknowledge P1 INCs and provide status updates regularly to client and stakeholders for high priority issues

  • Keep updates on assignments on SNOW

  • Publish, improve and maintain technical documentation along with processes and procedures

  • Engage in continuous learning and adoption of new concepts, technologies and problem-solving techniques

  • Participate in after hours and on-call rotation on a regular basis


Required Skills:


  • Proven professional and technical experience in an enterprise cloud environment with a focus on customer service and delivery role managing and mitigating escalations
  • Good understanding of Single Sign-on Configuration/Support (SSO) concepts and terminology
  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise-scale Linux Administration (used in a production environment)
  • Administration of web servers running Tomcat, Apache, IIS
  • Experience in PowerShell, Bash, Perl, Python, or similar scripting languages to automate common tasks.
  • Experience with LDAP and SSL setup and configuration. Certificate management and solid understanding of PKI and troubleshooting public/private keys issues
  • ITIL Knowledge (Incident, Change and Problem Management) and related tools (ServiceNow)
  • A desire to resolve problems and not just incidents or events. Possess the tenacity to delve to the root of the problem quickly, understand why it happened, and prevent it in the future
  • Works well with cross-functional global and remote teams
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn new technologies, methods, and tools quickly to meet our business requirements
  • Proven ability to collaborate with team members to achieve successful customer outcomes
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written skills, excellent customer service, as well as high attention to detail.
  • Experience with Luminis Portal and its integration technologies (Glassfish / LMG for LDI events, LMS adapters), GCF, Liferay
  • Experience with Ellucian Ethos Identity Service installation, configuration and troubleshooting
  • Excellent networking skills, ability to use command line tools to help diagnose and troubleshoot issues (telnet, ping, openssl, netcat, ldapsearch, saml-tracer)
  • Provide technical leadership to peers on your team


Desired Skillset (Plus to Have):


  • Hands-on operational experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Knowledge of Ellucian Banner Oracle tables
  • Proficient with automated deployment and upgrade tools; i.e. Jenkins, Ansible
  • Experience with SQL interpretation and modification/tuning
  • Knowledge of Ellucian Banner ERP product: Banner 8 Administration & Banner 9/XE Administration; Ellucian Solution Manager (ESM
  • Knowledge of Banner Enterprise Identity Services suite (BEIS)
  • Single Sign-on Configuration/Support (SSO) including CAS, SAML2.0 protocols and WS-Federation
  • Windows Server baseline skills


Education / Certifications:


  • B.S. (Computer Science/Engineering) or equivalent preferred. Similar qualifications with adequate experience will be considered
  • AWS Certification, a plus
