Program Marketing Manager, Account Based Marketing


Ellucian is looking for a hands-on and energetic Program Marketing Manager to help build its global account based marketing initiative. The goal of this role is to foster deeper partnerships with strategic account customers that leads to a preference for Ellucian and establishes Ellucian as the market leading partner to higher education institutions globally. As a member of the brand team, you'll have responsibility for planning and executing targeted marketing activities at key targeted prospect accounts, customer accounts and large higher education systems globally.  You are responsible for partnering closely with sales, field marketing, marketing ops, customer success and sales ops to drive high-value, high-engagement, personalized go-to-market programs.  This role starts with providing insights for decision-maker engagement while maximizing the efficiency of the sales and marketing process.  You will report to the current ABM program manager and work closely with cross-functional peers to build to specific account-level and target audience level campaigns.


This ideal candidate will have a background with B2B software solutions and/or experience with Account-based, highly targeted marketing, and has a passion for evolving the Ellucian brand within the higher education community.



  • Partner with marketing ops to maintain database of named contacts to align marketing and sales in defining the target audience required to achieve account goals.
  • Work with sales to identify gaps in key personas and contact information within strategic accounts. Develop data and insight strategy to add key personas and contacts within these accounts.
  • Collaborate with marketing peers and sales leadership to create and gain consensus for cross portfolio go-to-market (GTM) plans and marketing plays in alignment with strategic product mandates and sales directives.
  • Target and promote thought leadership content and new marketing assets that align with the customer journey, sales buying stages and support the GTM plan for specific accounts.
  • Deploy marketing tactics targeting specific accounts or school-systems using various channels including digital, direct mail, events and social media.
  • Analyze metrics and reports to determine effectiveness of program activities and thought leadership content consumption.
  • Create, manage and execute campaigns with Ellucian’s ABM platform, Terminus.
  • Actively tracking, synthesizing and using the data from this platform to inform sales and marketing plans as well as updating the organization on progress. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve go-to-market strategy & tactic effectiveness through better audience segmentation, marketing techniques and processes.



  • Deep experience with building and executing Account Based Marketing programs. Knowledge of Terminus, Demandbase or ABM type tools a plus.  Ideal candidate has worked at building campaigns targeting global accounts or strategic accounts at other B2B tech companies.
  • Passion for or focus on higher education/education a plus.  Understands the importance of brand and its relationship to the customer experience and integrated marketing campaigns
  • Clear understanding of technology, data applications, cloud and emerging technologies with the capability to skillfully integrate into programs that deliver on sales and product objectives.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills to translate detailed content into impactful go-to-market materials including web, email and social content.
  • Successful direct and digital marketing campaign and social media planning and execution experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve hands-on results working cross-functionally with sales, marketing and product teams
  • Achievement/goal-oriented, collaborative, customer-focused, detailed, persistent, active listener, resourceful, influence
  • Understands how to build and execute a campaign from concept to measurement in market
  • Strong project management. planning and organizational skills with attention to detail. An ability to take the initiative and deliver projects unsupervised.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years named or account-based marketing experience in public sector or B2B technology preferred
