Solutions Consultant

A customer facing Functional Solutions Consulting (presales) role with a primary objective (as a member of a wider sales team) to sell software solutions to prospects and customers. 

The ideal candidate will be a commercially astute trusted adviser to customers, comfortable engaging with people at different levels in institutions to understand (and help shape) their requirements, translate them into solutions and then convince customers that Ellucian and our solutions can meet their needs.

You will work hand in hand with our Account Sales Executives to engage with customers and prospects (with people at all levels), throughout the customer lifecycle.

You will work within a team of 4 local Functional Consultants and many Functional and Technical Solutions Consultants around the globe.

 

  • Help qualify opportunities, and form deal strategies
  • Carry out research on customers to understand their pains
  • Work with customers to understand (and help shape) their requirements  
  • Advise on best practice & latest thinking & facilitate workshops
  • Solution architecture – understand & evaluate “as is”, build roadmap to future state vision
  • Design solutions and solution architecture to meet customer needs
  • Actively maintain product and sector knowledge
  • Carry out targeted, audience appropriate presentations and demonstrations
  • Write bid responses

 

The ideal candidate’s career history will have given them a good understanding of the Higher Education industry and a broad understanding of the various functions across a University including business processes.

Experience of working in Student Information Systems and/or CRM is essential.

They will have strong consulting and customer facing skills, be commercially astute and either have or willing to learn Ellucian solutions and what they deliver for institutions.
