Due to Covid this person will work remote from home to start.  Once restrictions are lifted then we will have this person work onsite at Brookdale Community College.  Relocation assistance is available, and if a person relocates for this role they will not be required to relocate until a much later date.

The Director, Applications Services will provide functional and technical leadership, oversight and management of a team delivering enterprise applications in and aligned with a Colleague ERP environment. This person should also be able to offer creativity and innovation while working with stakeholders inside and outside of IT to ensure the enterprise applications department is aligned with the organization's mission.

Day to day responsibilities:

•    Provides management and hands-on technical expertise for the enterprise applications support services of the institution which may include a team comprised of Ellucian employees and client staff by performing the following duties, including but not limited to:
•    Plans, directs, and coordinates activities in the selection, implementation, management, and maintenance of enterprise applications technology projects to ensure project goals are accomplished.
•    Consults with management and reviews and presents project proposals to determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing administrative computing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources.
•    Develops project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, toolsets, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans and allocation of available resources.
•    Formulates and defines technical scope and objectives of application projects with a variety of technical staff and client end-user constituencies.  Identifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.  Coordinates the assignment of project personnel.  Assigns duties, responsibilities, and scope to project personnel.  Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget parameters.
•    Establishes standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.  Creates status reports and modifies schedules and plans as required.  Prepares project status reports and keeps management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues.  Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.  Coordinates and responds to requests for changes from original specifications.  Monitors project results against technical specifications.  Develops and maintains technical and project documentation.  Develops quality assurance test plans and testing.  May present project status to the client management team, various committees and Boards of Trustees.
•    Consults with clients to gather information about application programming needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.
•    Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware, and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
•    Writes and maintains technical specifications.
•    Customizes and codes screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, printed outputs, and interfaces with other systems.
•    Converts designs and specifications into computer code. Compiles code into programs and corrects errors detected in compile process. Creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications.
•    Consults with the client to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs.
•    Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, corrections, installation and operating procedures.



•    Experience providing functional and technical support for Ellucian’s Colleague ERP.
•    Higher Education background and knowledge with 6 years or more of related experience desired.
•    Has obtained expert knowledge in multiple modules/disciplines in Colleague ERP applications, related 3rd-party products, and/or other systems over 5+ years.
•    Has broad-based, in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience implementing Colleague ERP and/or other systems.

•   Experience with 3rd party reporting tools such as Informer, ODS, Tableau.

•    Bachelor’s degree, or other advanced degree beyond the Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; minimum of five years of experience in the implementation and maintenance of a higher education industry-leading enterprise applications environment that would include human resources, financials, student and alumni information systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    Excellent time-management, planning and interpersonal skills.
•    Effectively manage scope and customer expectations on individual assignments.
•    Must have the ability to work effectively with end-users, gain their confidence, understand their technical and operational needs and translate them into viable technical solutions. Superior verbal and written skills, encompassing complete understanding on the English language with exceptional communications skills. Strong organizational and leadership skills.
•    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Desired Skills (not required - PLUS to have):
•    Experience with Colleague Unidata platform required
•    Experience with Ellucian Ethos, CRM Recruit, CRM Advice and Ellucian Analytics highly desired
•    Experience in development of Informer reports
•    Experience with Colleague ERP analysis and de-customization preferred
•    Experience with Perceptive Content a PLUS
•    Project Management experience a PLUS

 •   Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
•    Microsoft O365 experience a PLUS
