Position Description

As a Proposal Knowledge Manager/Subject Matter Expert, you will be focused on Request for Proposal (RFP) responses in the area of professional services and ongoing support. You will play an essential role in the sale of Ellucian’s products to current and prospective clients in the higher education industry throughout North America.

 

As part of a dynamic team, you will work closely with the services, product management, and development teams to support the Sales Division’s business through the development of custom RFP responses.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide initial evaluation of RFPs for Ellucian services fit and identify strengths and challenges for team discussion
  • Work with extended Proposal Team SME’s and Sales to  help identify appropriate Ellucian services offerings for inclusion in proposal responses
  • Develop tailored RFP responses using Ellucian-established writing principals, theories, concepts, and techniques in accomplishing completion of proposal responses in services/support areas
  • Maintain current knowledge of Ellucian services and support to ensure accuracy of RFP library of content in Qvidian database for use by global resources
  • Constantly drive to improve and expand Qvidian database library following established content management principals, theories and best practices
  • Stay abreast of current and emerging trends in the HE industry, competitive information, as well as Ellucian services needed to help develop responses to RFP requirements.
  • Represent sales team in selected cross-divisional project teams to improve knowledge of Ellucian offerings.

 

Position Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree required (Business, Journalism, Marketing, Project Management)
  • A minimum of 4–6 years relevant professional work experience
  • Ability to work with remote employees across the ecosystem
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to follow established RFP response guidelines and best practices
  • Ability to present complex concepts in a clear and concise manner to customers in proposals
  • A team player willing to go the extra mile for teammates and the company
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and independently and to work in a technically complex environment
  • The ability to plan, strategize, and problem-solve as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple, consecutive, time-sensitive deadlines
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail under pressure
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word skills required (styles, formatting, editing, etc.)

 

Desired Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Microsoft Word knowledge
  • Prior proposal/RFP experience a huge plus
  • Prior experience in Services related field a plus
  • Prior Higher Education background a plus
  • Prior knowledge of Ellucian products (Banner, Colleague, CRM, etc.) an/ord services (implementation, support, etc.)
  • Prior Qvidian or similar proposal management solution
