Senior Manager, Delivery Excellence

As the Senior Manager of Delivery Excellence, you will be responsible for working with the Field Delivery Directors in North America to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction throughout product and services delivery. You will be responsible for the development, implementation and governance of best practices and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives. You will support and directly influence on-time, high-quality delivery across the entire North America PS Field Delivery portfolio. 

 

The Senior Manager, Delivery Excellence will be a core member of the Leadership Team, with the objective of supporting the overall business rhythm and alignment with the Delivery Directors and the whole Professional Services strategy.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and enhance the framework, standards, policies, and procedures for Professional Services project management on customer-facing implementations
  • Ensure effective project management practices are followed and deliver high quality results for customers
  • Own and manage the Project Governance process, ensuring timely, cross-functional resolution of at-risk projects
  • Monitor key metrics and conduct project audits to ensure quality and compliance with established procedures and best practices
  • Manage a best-practice Community of Practice for the Project Management organization to ensure that lessons learned are effectively captured and leveraged across the team
  • Advise leadership about the project portfolio, status and resource planning for delivering customer implementations and other strategic business initiatives as assigned
  • Interact with product management, product development, Professional Service Operations, and Cloud to ensure continuity between the organizations.
  • Deliver regular consolidated updates to the Delivery Leadership, as well as bring relevant and timely topics to the Delivery Leadership meetings
  • Proactively identify opportunities for Delivery process improvement. Work closely with the Delivery Directors to inspect internal delivery process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement.  Assist the Delivery Leadership in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies. Facilitate an organization of continuous improvement.
  • Establish practice and portfolio level SLA & KPI performance standards and controls, proactively report on issues and corrective actions required.
  • Establish project management Communications Plans and other related PMO templates and drive their implementation and adoption throughout the Delivery teams
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Skills & Requirements:

An undergraduate degree is required; in addition, this leader must demonstrate:

  • 10+ years minimum experience in Project Management with a minimum of four years personnel management and leadership in a technical company
  • 8+ years experience in Professional Services, Support or Consulting in large-scale systems implementation.
  • Demonstrated Delivery Excellence/PMO experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of Project Management Knowledge Areas and Process Groups with the ability to apply concepts and practices to Field Delivery methodology
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a geographically distributed team
  • Ability to effectively influence and coordinate cross functional teams
  • Experience working with a matrix organization
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with individuals across all levels of the company, as well as work autonomously
  • Data driven decision making and proven data management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required, ability to drive change and adoption within the Delivery team 
  • Highly motivated in change environment, organized, systematic and structured with the ability to plan and manage many moving initiatives in parallel
  • Strong communication and presentation skills  
  • Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to Delivery PMO teams
  • Lead and drive the implementation of PMO improvement plans, frameworks, processes and tools;
  • PMP certification a plus.
