Purpose of the role

Ellucian is seeking an innovative hands-on Senior React JS developer to be an integral part of the design, build out and adoption of an exciting new cloud-based higher education solutions.  Working closely with product architects and product management this individual design and create this new green field product.  You must be able to work with a wide range of resources: architects, business analysts, developers, automation engineers, managers and product managers to support rapid deployment and adoption activities in an Agile Scrum based methodology.  Successful candidates must bring SaaS based product experience including performance standards, Dev Ops, test automation and AWS.  This role is part of the build out of a new team to work on new products you will also have an opportunity to be part of the hiring process to fill the rest of the positions.


 Primary Responsibilities

  • You will participate in the design, development and delivery of new solutions for the next generation of Higher Education products
  • You will be working with React and React Native applications.
  • You will provide technical leadership in the analysis and review of proposed system features and integration, security, scalability and performance requirements with users, business analysts, architects and team members
  • You will be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of development methodologies, design, testing automation, best practices and procedures

 

Selection Criteria

  • 3-5 years as a JavaScript developer, developing in a product company
  • Expertise in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc. 
  • Knowledge of the following JavaScript frameworks: React or React Native. 
  • Experience with source control tools such as Git. 
  • Experience with work item tracking and build management. 
  • Passion about building high-quality applications with software implementation best practices. 
  • Ability to be self-motivated, independent, and detail oriented. 
  • Have a sense of accountability and ownership for your work. 
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Experience in development in a CI/CD environment and familiarity with CI/CD tools.
  • Experience in applying modern Agile Software Development practices.
  • Adaptability is a must, including the ability and enthusiasm to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve critical issues for complex systems under tight timeframes.
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple competing priorities with minimal direction from management. Should possess excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand systems from all levels, from the "big picture" enterprise-level view to the low-level technical view.
  • Must be able to write technical design and build documentation for all aspects of a technical infrastructure.
  • Good interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to represent technical and business issues and solutions to multiple levels internally and externally to support strategic organizational plans
