Product Manager

Ellucian is seeking an innovative hands-on individual to help lead the design, built out and adoption of an exciting family of Employer focused Student management applications.  Working closely with development teams, Product Architects and other Product Owner, you will mature and grow this applications.  You must be able to work with a wide range of roles: Architects, Business Analysts, Developers, Automation engineers, Managers and Product Owners to support rapid deployment and adoption activities in an Agile Scrum based methodology.  We’re looking for an operations focused team player that is part Engineer, part Air Traffic Controller.

 

Responsibilities

  • Creating a vision of what we are trying to achieve and conveying this to the development team
  • Overseeing and writing user stories, acceptance criteria, grooming
  • Prioritizing the Product backlogs
  • Ensuring the timely availability and accuracy of requirements, so the engineering teams can develop software as efficiently as possible
  • Understanding the dependencies with other integrated applications and how they combine to deliver solutions to the end consumer and to the business
  • Balancing commercial needs against technical requirements and capabilities
  • Ensuring all solutions meet company-wide, requirements in terms of non-functional performance, security, compliance, social responsibility
  • Work closely with peers in product, R&D and the wider Ellucian organisation to identify, design, estimate and prioritize the product roadmap

 

Experience required:

  • 5+ years working as a Product Owner in an Agile/Scrum product development environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, able to confidently present and influence senior management
  • Comfortable presenting and demonstrating product updates to an executive-level audience and other stakeholders
  • Must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical people
  • Experience communicating product vision and decisions across geographically distributed teams
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities – you will be required to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong skills in planning, organization, scheduling, problem solving
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with strong decision-making skills
